Foggy Fall Weekend

Goodness, I so love foggy fall weekend weather. I know many people hope for bright, sunny days for their fall family photo sessions, but the fog is stunning.  The air feels insulating and muted–like a watercolor painting.  I’m overjoyed to discover they feel the same way, and we’re all eager to walk to the park to see how the fog hangs above the lake.

So big! Look at those two bottom teeth and touchdown arms!

It is such the privilege of the older sister (along with elevator buttons) to push the crosswalk signal button.  I’m also thoroughly enchanted by her polka dot dress and raised bumps on the sidewalk contrasting with the crosswalk stripes. I immediately saw this in black and white, wanting to strip color to emphasize shape and pattern.

Swoon.  They have a gorgeous foggy fall weekend morning all to themselves on the pier.

Soft window light, warm bottle, mama’s arms is the most perfect way to go down for a morning nap.  I know Goodnight Moon deep in my bones; the cadence alone makes me drowsy and fuzzy from my own childhood to my boys’ bedtimes.

Here’s what they had to say about working with me on that foggy fall weekend morning:

Jen was excellent! She felt like an old friend the moment she walked in our home. Our children were immediately comfortable with her allowing us to capture the day perfectly! The book and prints we received were of excellent quality and will be cherished for years to come.

I know sometimes families wonder what to DO with all the images in their gallery.  While many families love making digital slideshows, printing holiday cards, sharing their session on social media, which are all fantastic, I find the book will be consistently treasured by kids, parents, grandparents, and guests.  It’s my fav!

xo,

Jen
