Jetplanes and Underdogs| Middleton Family Photographer

On your mark.

Get set.

Go!Madison Family Photography_0013 I realize I’ve skipped an entire season here in my share, but it doesn’t negate my love for this super, on-the-go, jetplane-flying, fun-saturated family session from last fall!  We had that deep warm, golden evening with just a titch of brisk–that trademark Wisconsin autumn.  The air was spiced with Eau de Summer Is Over, but winter was no where on the horizon (little did we know what we were in for then). The boys, Brendan and Rory, have that bright-eyed, enthusiastic chatter for everything from speckled pond turtles to hockey plays to swaying cattails to four-year-old birthdays.  Their laughter is downright infectious, and their grand beaming at the world is nothing short of joyful. So best, right? We circled a long, nature-swaddled path around their homey pond, pausing for the sights and sounds a gorgeous October evening has to offer.  Anne and Jay kept pace with their boys, meeting their stories, curiosities, and jokes with engagement and appreciation, while simultaneously giving them an independent lead to explore.

Just as the sun dipped behind the maple trees, the path crossed with a sweet little playground.  Here, everyone covered the ground playing tag, scaling stairs, descending slides, and zooming with cheerful purpose.  They ended with a hearty game of underdogs on the swings and talks of the upcoming hockey practice. Sounds pretty darned beautifully ordinary to me.

Anne shares her thoughts on working with for her Madison Family Photography session:

Jen is great to work with. We have two very energetic boys and she was able to capture their spirit and character perfectly. We did a shoot with her in the fall and all the shots turned out great. Our oldest son is making his First Communion in a few weeks so we have asked Jen to help capture this day. In our house, we don’t get dressed up on a regular basis. A shirt with a collar is considered “fancy clothes” in our house. I am looking forward to seeing the boys in their suits and “fancy” clothes, but I am sure Jen will also capture their fun loving spirit (and desire to ditch the “fancy clothes”).

Sooo good!

xo,

Jen
