Madison Family Photographer | Grandparents At Play

“The truth of a life really has little to do with its quality. The quality of life is in proportion, always, to the capacity for delight. The capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention.”

– Julia Cameron

Hands down this was a gorgeous day–24-karat light washed over us like a warm sea at rest, the trees began illuminating  stained-glass leaves, and those that had already fallen offered a technicolor quilted path underfoot. Gorgeous. However, the real beauty is what this family brought with them–the radiance in a happy, curious child and his proud, engaged parents and grandparents was infectiously inspiring!  The images come alive in their connection, their playfulness, their ability to just Be. This is what to document, to remember, to treasure…walking down a golden path you trek everyday, the simple love of a train & a truck and & bike, bright-eyed engagement on the playground, running down the hill, and just being silly & tickle-y & snuggly & squeals of laughter with parents and grandparents alike.  *These* are Memory Makers.

While if may often feel like we’re in the trenches with preschool kids and the busyness of careers and home, we choose to line the trench walls with the authenticity of the happiness and joy that is already here.

Vanessa ever so kindly shared her thoughts on working with me for beautiful family photographs:

“I had never worked with a professional photographer before, and Jen made the whole process so easy and fun from start to finish. Her website is outstanding and she really takes to time to understand what you’re looking for, not to mention the beautiful, beautiful pictures. If you’re looking for documentary style photos, Jen is a great choice.”

Thank you a million times over for allowing me to capture a snippet of your joy!
