Grace, Class of 2017
Grace is a pure gem. She is light and energy and joy and love all wrapped inside a blanket of kindness. Senior sessions give me pause because I want the real you, not the posed you. There are dozens of photographers who will pose you until the day’s end, and they are good at it. I want the real you to come out because this is such a fleeting, special time in your life that goes all too fast. I’m deeply honored for the opportunity to see and capture who you really are. And Grace did just that–she showed up in a ball of glow-y, dewy light and just let herself Be.
“She was free in her wildness. She was a wanderess, a drop of free water. She belonged to no man and to no city.” -Roman Payne
This may be one of my favorite portraits of all time. Grace is wearing her grandmother’s belt as a necklace and the bubbles and wand all complement the circle theme. It works well in black and white, allowing the viewer to really see the shape.
As we lost light in one low-lying location, we moved to a different one with rolling hills and a field of sunflowers. Breathtaking in all ways.
We stayed until the sky offered us its very last drop of summer light. From Grace herself:
{Jen is} So easy to work with and makes you feel so comfortable- She really takes time to understand what you’re looking for and your style while still contributing her professional eye resulting in every shot being absolutely beautiful! Cannot wait to work with her again 🙂
