This beautiful family wrote some incredibly lovely words about our Fresh 48 & at-home newborn documentary photography session that I will share here:

Jen Lucas is the photographer you are looking for if you want authentic documentation of life. She is a skilled photographer and artist. She was intimately a part of the 18th hour of our daughter’s life. Her presence in the hospital room was genuine, yet low-profile. She laughed with us, while providing the space for deeply powerful first meetings to organically unfold. In the process she captured the gestures, moments, and events that defined that time and space for us. When she arrived at our house to do a follow up shoot, it was as though we were welcoming back a friend. She stepped into our every day, and naturally captured exactly who we are as a family. When she took off the flats she was wearing, to walk into Lake Mendota to capture our toddler playing in the water, I knew we could not have found a better photographer for our family. The results were better than we could have imagined. The photos were delivered quickly, they are easy to navigate through, and the documentation she provides (noting what she saw in the moment, encouraging us to take note of certain elements) was wonderful. We’re scheming when we get to work with her again.

It was nothing short of pure joy that I was able to capture this all-too-fast moment of time! I’m looking forward to watching these girls grow!
