This September morning was crisp and lovely, just as you imagine a Wisconsin September to be. Blue skies, warm sun filled the air, while late summer light and temperature still gave us saturated green grass and wall of hydrangeas.

We spent the morning crafting, baking, tea-timing, drumming, biking, hop-scotching, gaming. Laura picked up an Easy Bake Oven (remember those?!), and so Lydia and Audrey started the day with chocolate cake. The best, right? The girl took turns measuring the tiny portions, and then took off to the playroom for a special tea time play while the lightbulb oven baked their chocolate goodness.
Lydia creatively made a wind pipe out of craft sticks.Richard works on his new book in the study while the girls are having tea time in the playroom next to him.

Life is all unicorns and rainbow here. Audrey ROCKS OUT to Lydia’s drum feature. Nothing wakes up a lazy Sunday morning like a drum jam session. The whole family gets in on it. Who needs coffee with drums in the house?
The rest of the morning is spent gathered in the living room among toys and games. Lydia finishes sewing her stuffed Sully, while Richard helps tie up the loose ends. Laura and Audrey play Shopkins (new to me!) and put together a puzzle. Later the girls play a super fun game of double-decker Connect Four–a must have family game!
Shopkins!
