Many high school seniors love to choose the wild outdoors for their senior pictures. Madison has so much to offer in terms of flower fields, cool forests, downy pastures of grass, and stream trickles. I can see the appeal! However, as a city girl myself, I can deeply appreciate a senior session that uses our urban architecture as a backdrop.
Lucy had a dynamite vision here! Among many photographic elements, I often seek texture and color, and the city did not disappoint. Rough & speckled bricks, smooth-as-glass baby blue lakes, checkered hundred+-year-old buildings were around every corner. We chased the September light from the water’s edge to the Capitol.
An urban setting also allowed us to find colorful, interesting doorways to literally frame Lucy. The light bounces around the city in unexpected ways–reflects off windows, curves around corners, and ricochets off bright cement. This helped produce an ethereal vibe right in the middle of a bustling workday.
Every gallery contains a mix of vibrant color and crisp black and white images.
Congratulations, Lucy! Hope you have an amazing senior year, the best summer ever, and then off on a brand new adventure.

Jen
Start thinking now about booking your Class of 2021 senior pictures! Start thinking about your own fantastic location and I will document this incredibly special time in your life just for you! I find any time between May and September to have optimal weather and schedule for your senior pictures. Most local area high schools (West, East, Middleton, Verona, Sun Prarie, Mount Horeb) require your student yearbook picture to submitted by mid-October. Edgewood, Janesville, Milwaukee, and maybe others are due in November. Contact me today to discuss your own ideas. I can’t wait to hear what you have in mind!
