Spring Newborn

In the soft hues of a spring morning in Madison, WI, a new chapter unfolds for this remarkable family. With their newborn daughter nestled in their arms, they embark on a documentary session, capturing the tender moments of their daily routine.

As the sun starts to peek through the east-facing windows of their cozy condo, Dad takes charge of the first diaper change of the day. With practiced hands and a loving gaze, he tenderly attends to his daughter’s needs, while Mom settles into the sunlit bedroom, ready to nurse the newborn. The room is filled with a sense of calm, illuminated by the gentle rays of morning light.

Transitioning seamlessly from one task to another, they revel in the simple joys of parenthood. Dad cradles the baby in his arms, relishing the weight of her tiny body, while Mom reads aloud from a cherished book, her voice filling the room with warmth and comfort.

Eager to embrace the beauty of the season, the family sets out for a brisk walk to Monona Terrace. Despite the absence of blooming flowers, the promise of spring hangs in the air, invigorating their spirits. The newborn, snug against her father, settles in for a nap.

Along the way, they pass by bare trees, their branches reaching toward the clear blue sky. The sound of birdsong fills the air, a symphony of nature’s awakening. With each step, they  savor the moments of togetherness, knowing that these early days with their newborn are fleeting.

Arriving at Monona Terrace, they pause to take in the panoramic view of Lake Monona, its tranquil waters shimmering in the morning light. The skyline of Madison stretches out before them, a backdrop of urban beauty against the natural landscape.

As they make their way back home, they are filled with a sense of gratitude for the simple pleasures of life. In the quiet moments of their documentary session, they have discovered the profound joy of parenthood and the timeless beauty of a spring morning in Madison.

In the days and weeks to come, they will continue to capture the fleeting moments of their daughter’s infancy, knowing that each memory is a treasure to be cherished for years to come. But for now, they bask in the warmth of the sun, the love in their hearts, and the promise of a new beginning.

We had a fantastic experience during out photo session with Jen and our 17 day old daughter. Jen’s style put us at ease and didn’t require any particular planning (which was great, because we had enough to think about with a newborn!). She framed her shots beautifully without ever asking us to pose or making us feel unnatural. She captured not only the cherished details of our daughter, but also all of us as a family in a way that will be precious to look back on in the future.
