Sometimes, a song says it better.
There’s something special about an early fall evening, when the air is crisp but not too cold, and the sky holds that perfect golden hour light. For this family of six, it was the ideal setting for a spontaneous trip to the park—and, of course, their husky, Diesel, was more than ready to join in on the fun.
As soon as they arrived at the park, the kids scattered in every direction, like little firecrackers bursting into action. The playground was their first stop, where they raced to climb, swing, and slide.
Meanwhile, the big, fluffy husky, wasn’t about to be left out. With a joyful wag of his tail, he sprinted back and forth, chasing after the kids or simply reveling in the attention they gave him. Every time someone would pause to pet him, he’d give them a big, slobbery kiss, much to the delight of the kids. True to husky form, he was patient and determined, staying close enough to ensure he was always part of the action.
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, the park started to feel a bit quieter. The kids were still in full swing, but there was a palpable shift in the air—like the park was settling down for the night, ready for everyone to take a breather. The scene was pure chaos and bliss, and they wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was a perfect fall evening: laughter, play, and the simple joy of being together as a family.
The evening ended with a collective sigh of contentment, the kind that only a day full of outdoor fun and family bonding can bring. Fall had just begun, and this memory would surely be one of many they’d cherish throughout the season.
There are simply not enough stars in the galaxy to express how much I love Jen’s work! She has an incredible nack for capturing personalities in her images. I look at the photos she has taken of my four kids and see not only a fleeting moment in time, but also a distillation of each of their most unique characteristics. Having Jen document these moments has become a yearly investment for our family. We have ended sessions with our four kids, sometimes less than cooperative, mostly running in different directions, and wondered how she could have possibly gotten a good shot, only to find out a few weeks later that she has spun gold!
