Madison Family Photographer | UW-Arb in the Fall

Ah, the joys of family outings, where the idyllic fall landscape meets the chaos of wrangling young kids.  This family of six set off to explore the UW Arboretum in Madison on a crisp fall evening, hoping for a peaceful stroll through the woods. Spoiler alert: It was anything but peaceful lol

The moment we arrived the twins (who are clearly fueled by an unlimited supply of energy) sprinted toward the nearest pile of leaves, laughing maniacally.

Meanwhile, the other two…strategic in their adventures, decided to lead us off the beaten path.

At one point, the twins stopped mid-sprint to inspect a pile of acorns, declaring them “treasures” that they must carry with them.

By the time the sun began to set, we were covered in leaves, dirt,  But as we watched the sky turn pink, we agreed: It was the perfect fall evening. M And hey, no one fell in the pond. That’s a win.

There are simply not enough stars in the galaxy to express how much I love Jen’s work! She has an incredible nack for capturing personalities in her images. I look at the photos she has taken of my four kids and see not only a fleeting moment in time, but also a distillation of each of their most unique characteristics. Having Jen document these moments has become a yearly investment for our family. We have ended sessions with our four kids, sometimes less than cooperative, mostly running in different directions, and wondered how she could have possibly gotten a good shot, only to find out a few weeks later that she has spun gold!

I cannot wait to see these growing, beautiful humans again next year!
