Life is always a rich and steady time when you are waiting for something to happen. –E.B. White
I so love the idea of capturing this special anticipatory time in your life in the most authentic way. We don’t usually stand in a field of flowers clutching our bellies in a dreamy way. It’s not to say that can’t or shouldn’t be done, but I strongly believe that images of how you really spent this time will tug at your heart and bring you back long after this time has passed. Mamas are busy. And toddler siblings often talk to the belly, feed it apple slices, imitiate it with shoving balls under their shirts. Also, everyone kinda ignores the belly too–there’s often play and work to be done and mamas do just that without a lot of fanfare.
Here, they start out in the nursery–checking out out the artwork Amber and Grayson had made for the baby’s walls and the Coming Home From Hospital outfit choices. Will it be a boy or girl? Just a few short days.
Grayson, Amber, and Christian build mega towers with Duplos and laugh and tell stories.Christian stays fueled in the most delicious way.
Grayson listens to the baby and adorably declares the baby’s heartbeat is a solid “42 pounds.” 🙂
Grayson and Christian put on Christian’s collegiate attire to participate in some playroom soccer and basketball events.
Everyone heads to the art space for some creative drawing time.
Grayson grabs a bowl full of apple slices and they head up to the big bed for family story time.
So!? Did they have a boy or a girl? Find out by reading their Fresh 48 hospital session here!
