You've spent three years becoming exactly who you are right now ahead of your senior year. That's what these pictures are for — not a stiff pose against a backdrop, but a genuine record of this specific version of you, in the places and light of the city you grew up in.

My approach is natural with a professional polish. I don't do forced. I follow your lead and provide just enough direction to keep things moving and make sure you feel confident — think of it as a collaboration between your energy and my eye. The result is portraits that actually look like you on your best day, not a performance of what you thought senior pictures were supposed to look like.

Senior Session Info

While my heart is in documentary storytelling, I bring that same honest eye to my senior portraits. It’s about more than just a headshot; it’s about making genuine photos of who you are in this moment—no forced smiles or awkward poses!

  • $650 (+ pesky Dane County tax) for 20 high-resolution digital images & print release

    $350 retainer due at booking to hold your date.

    Senior sessions are held exclusively during the Golden Hour (Monday through Thursday).

    You will also receive an info and location guide.

  • Approximately 60 minutes of shooting at your preferred location in the Madison area. If we need a little more time, I gotchu.

    If you’re d-o-n-e after 45 min or so, I get it—we’ll wrap with a solid variety.

    I serve senior sessions on Monday through Thursday during Golden Hour.

    Your weekends are all yours.

  • You will be able to choose your favorite 20 high-resolution digital files from a wide selection, hand-polished and ready for download.

    You will also have an option to purchase your entire gallery and print products.

  • You will receive a $50 credit toward professional prints or an heirloom album to document this milestone. Let your parents put a print in their office, gift grandparents a 5×7, or have a book of the whole session for your parents’ coffee table. Wherever next year takes you, your parents will love having a whole album of you at arm's reach.

  • You choose your favorite; I’ll handle the technical stuff. I will personally resize and submit your chosen portrait directly to your school’s yearbook committee.

    You’ll have a lot of details (& fun) on your list this year—let me take this one off your plate!

  • Jen is an amazing photographer! From our initial inquiry to Jen’s hand delivery of my daughter’s photos, Jen was professional, detail-oriented, and responsive. My daughter’s session exceeded our expectations. Jen captured so much in a relatively short period of time, and gave my daughter many beautiful options for her senior photo.

    Jen took my son's Senior Class photos and they are amazing! Impossible to select just one for the yearboook! She really made him feel at ease, and I can't recommend her enough.

    This review is simple: Jen herself is an absolute ray of light and her work is a gift. I found Jen online looking for someone to take senior photos for my daughter. Aside from iPhone snaps we aren’t a family who has dedicated much time or energy into photo-documenting our children’s lives and so I really wanted a set of beautiful, timeless images of my daughter to capture this special transition of life. What we got were breathtaking, color-saturated, heritage-quality images that will delight us forever. Would give all the stars available for Jen’s services.

    Jen did a beautiful job taking my son's senior photos. I was expecting him to be awkward and for the photos to reflect as much. However, she is so down to earth and unpretentious, that he was completely comfortable. The photos themselves were gorgeous and she gave great suggestions of where to order prints from. I remember all the sales pitches my senior photographer did back in the day, and I completely appreciated that Jen was not like that! I plan to use her again for other events. Highly recommend!

    Jen took my son’s senior photos this fall. She worked a scheduling miracle to accomplish this, especially after bad weather canceled our first try. I loved how she chatted up my son and helped him to really be himself, relax, and collaborate with her to get a great resulting suite of photos. We chose a neighborhood park on the lake for our location - nothing exotic. Jen found very clever ways to make it look like we were in many different locations for the shoot, rather than just 2. Completely delighted with every aspect of the experience!

    We couldn't be happier with our son's senior photos! Jen brought out his best smiles and the pictures are very natural and really show who he is. Very accommodating with schedules and so easy to work with - we highly recommend Jen!

    I was not sure who to use for photos and looked at reviews and found Jen Lucas and saw the reviews and took a chance. So glad we did as she was awesome. She was very responsive, we had a change of schedule and she was able to accommodate with no issues, very professional and polite to my son as well. Her work turned out amazing and we couldn’t be happier! I would highly suggest her and we’d use her again without a doubt!!

    We are thrilled with how our son's senior photos turned out! My son was nervous going into the photo shoot because he doesn't love having his photo taken. Jen was so kind and engaging with him. She put him right at ease. As a result, the pictures turned out amazing! I can't wait to share them family and friends. She did a terrific job capturing him as he enters his last year of high school.
